The scope of Shift Ledger’s free work-hours calculation tools. Learn what these calculators can and cannot do.
Use of the calculators
These tools provide general arithmetic and planning estimates. You are responsible for checking your inputs and comparing results with your actual records and applicable policy. You may use, print, and export your calculations without an account.
The calculators are designed for U.S. hourly workers. They use U.S. time formats (AM/PM and 24-hour), U.S. currency, and U.S. date formats. International use is possible but not the primary design target.
No payroll service
The site does not provide payroll filing, employment advice, tax calculations, payments, cloud archives, or employer approvals. It does not determine legal entitlement to overtime, breaks, premiums, or leave.
Results are estimates based on the inputs you provide. They are not guaranteed to match any specific payroll system, employer policy, or state regulation. Use them as a starting point for your own verification.
Availability and corrections
Software and explanations can contain errors and may change. No guarantee of uninterrupted availability or suitability for a particular payroll system is made. Report suspected errors through Contact.
The site may be updated without notice. Formulas, explanations, and features may change as corrections are made or new tools are added. Previous versions are not archived for public reference.
Your records
You control files you download and drafts you choose to save. Keep independent copies of important records. Do not rely on browser storage as the sole record of hours worked. Browser storage can be cleared by the user, by the browser, or by device maintenance tools.
Downloaded CSV and JSON files are plain text. Store them securely. Do not share files containing personal timecard data with untrusted parties.
